Net Stock is the effective inventory available for use or sale after accounting for reserved, damaged, or blocked stock. It offers a more accurate picture of usable inventory. Calculated as:
Net Stock = Total Inventory – Reserved/Damaged/Blocked Stock. In inventory optimization, net stock is used for accurate replenishment planning, demand fulfillment, and service level calculations. Mistaking gross stock for net stock can result in stockouts or service failures.
